Lions Club grateful for support of meal

The Greencastle Lions Club is celebrating a successful 2008 Pancake Breakfast that was held on Saturday, March 8. We served a total of 773 breakfasts and met our fundraising goal.

Part of the annual success is due to the donations from our area businesses. There were 87 businesses that made cash, advertising or food donations. The advertising, other publicity and the patrons' support were key factors to this successful program.

Thanks to Connie Shives and her staff at the middle school cafeteria for their help and guidance. Kline's Market is to be recognized for the sausage and puddin'. We received numerous compliments on how good the sausage was this year.

The Club is very grateful for all of the people who came to eat with us. Each year this event provides an opportunity for the commuity to join us for a time to enjoy a breakfast with family and friends. Thanks to all for your continued support of the Greencastle Lions Club Pancake Breakfast project.

Proceeds will be used to support community projects such as Rescue Hose Company and Medic 2, G-AHS Students of the Month, girls and boys softball teams, Santa and treats for the Christmas parade and to provide eye examinations and eyeglasses for local needy individuals. We are planning to add a high school student scholarship award this year.
