Injured worker still in hospital

The man injured in an industrial accident at Manitowoc Crane in Shady Grove March 14 remains hospitalized. A representative from York Hospital said Darren Whitlock, 28, of Quincy, is in satisfactory condition.

As only reported in the Echo Pilot last week, Whitlock, an assembler, was struck by a forklift and transported to the regional Class One trauma center by helicopter.

According to Tony Metz, Human Resources Director at Manitowoc, the company is conducting a full investigation into the accident and is supporting Whitlock and his family as he begins his recuperation and physical therapy.
