Visiting Angels opens office in Chambersburg

JOHN AND VERONICA MALONE
CHAMBERSBURG - Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services has opened an office in Chambersburg to provide quality non-medical homecare services to seniors.

Owners John and Veronica Malone also have offices in Gettysburg and Carlisle. They have owned the franchise for four years. They entered the business after witnessing minor and major changes in older members of their own families. The result was starting their agency to provide personal care and hygiene assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands and shopping services.

John, originally from Carlisle, served in the U. S. Army and then as a Human Resources Director. Veronica, from Spring Grove, worked in financial services.

"We understand it isn't easy to make the decision to invite a stranger into your home to provide homecare," they said. "That's why Visiting Angels stringently screens all of its employees to maximize your peace of mind."

The agency does not assign caregivers to families, but rather lets the family choose the caregiver they prefer. The staff are qualified as GNA, CNA, LPN or RN.

They continued, "The Visiting Angels philosophy is that the client is always in charge. Visiting Angels believes it is their job to adjust to the client's schedule in order for the client to remain safe and comfortable in their own home."

The franchise network had over 325 offices in the United States and Canada and has expanded overseas. It began in 1992 in Baltimore and founder Jeffrey Johnson continues to provide training and guidance for all of the offices.

The Chambersburg office is located at 1053 Lincoln Way East and the phone number is 717-709-7244.
