Students named Students of Month at G-A High School

Aditi Patel and Steven Asbill Jr. have been chosen as Greencastle Antrim High School Students of the Month for March.
The program, conducted during the months of the academic year, is sponsored by the Greencastle Lions and Greencastle Antrim Lioness clubs. Selection of the students honored is done by faculty members and is based on service to school and community, extracurricular activities, academic standards, discipline and attitude.
The daughter of Bharat and Jayshree Patel, Aditi is on the distinguished honor roll and earned the President's Award for Educational Excellence. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.
Her activities include Peer Tutor, Tumani Ambassador Club and a job. Outside of school she enjoys reading, talking with friends and watching movies.
After graduation Aditi plans to attend the University of Maryland to major in biochemistry.
The son of Steve and Dana Asbill, Steven takes classes at Penn State Mont Alto. He is in the National Honor Society and is vice president of the Spanish National Honor Society. He received awards for Outstanding Study in Social Studies and Spanish IV. He was also Marching Band Rookie of the Year in 2006.
Extracurricular activities include Drama Club, playing tuba in the marching and concert bands, school choir and membership in the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In track he throws javelin and runs distances.
Steven's hobbies include weight-training, jogging and playing basketball, tennis and baseball. He also enjoys playing chess and studying Spanish.
After graduation he plans to attend York College of Pennsylvania to double major in political science and Spanish. He would like to become a Spanish teacher or an interpreter.
