Bible conference

CHAMBERSBURG - Chambersburg Bible Church, 810 Orchard Drive, will host a Bible Conference of the Fellowship of Bible Churches at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24.

Rev. Herman Fisler, pastor of Grace Bible Church, Greencastle, and president of the Fellowship of Bible Churches, will be the speaker.

MARION - The third annual Cross Harmony Night will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 28 at Marion Mennonite Church, 4365 Molly Pitcher Highway featuring Day Star and Butch Neil.

Benefit Gospel concert

MERCERSBURG - An evening of gospel music will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the James Buchanan Middle School, 5191 Fort Loudon Road. This concert will feature The Stamps Quartet and Dave, Duane and Neil (originally known as The Couriers). The opening act is a local group of performers called Reminisce. The concert will be hosted by Sam Mason of Southern Light 91.3 radio station.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Alisha Keller Memorial

Scholarship Fund.

Tickets are available after March 15 at Modnur Pharmacy in Mercersburg and St. Thomas, Sunnyway Food Markets in Chambersburg and Greencastle and Freed Spirit in Waynesboro.

Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. Seating is limited.

Weekend healing retreat

A"Weekend Healing Retreat " for women who have experienced the loss of a child through abortion will be held Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13. This event is sponsored by Pure Grace 101, the Post Abortion Ministry of Pregnancy Ministries, Inc. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. All contacts are strictly confidential.

School of Biblical Evangelism

CHAMBERSBURG - The first semester of The School of Biblical Evangelism will run through Saturday, May 19 and will meet at Christian Life Church, 1400 Warm Spring Road.

Classes will be held twice a month, one week day from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and one Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $50, payable in two payments. The format will be lectures with handouts, videos and role play using the material produced by The Way of the Master Ministry of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.

Maundy Thursday/Good Friday services

The First United Methodist Church, 45 N. Washington St., will hold a Holy Communion Service at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, March 20, and a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. March 21.

Good Friday Service

A Good Friday Service will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Road.

The theme, The Glories of the Cross, will be developed by seven area pastors: Sam Martz, Mervil Stambaugh, Ben Fisler, Bruce Dick, Bruce Gephart, Glen Miller and Greg Kell. Special music and hymns will be included. Those attending may come and go as they wish.

Holy Week services

Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, will observe the following services for Holy Week:

Wednesday, March 19 - The service of Corporate Confession and Forgiveness will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Thursday, March 20 - 7:30 p.m. A Maundy Thursday service of Holy Communion focusing on the Last Supper will end with the stripping of the alter.

Friday, March 21 - 7:30 p.m. A Good Friday Tennebrae Service of Diminishing Lights will use the last seven words of Christ.

Saturday, March 22 - 5 p.m. The informal Saturday evening service with Holy Communion will use the Easter Vigil as a basis moving from darkness to light.

Easter Sunday, March 22, will celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord with two services of worship. The Easter Sunrise Service will be at 7 a.m. will feature Holy Communion, the spoken word by Pastor Martin H. Horn and music by the senior choir.

Easter morning breakfast will be served immediately following the Sunrise Service in Memorial Fellowship Hall in the lower level. The Festive Easter Service at 10:45 a.m. will have Holy Communion, the spoken word and choir music. A brass quartet will accompany the choir and the hymns. Gloria J. Dorsett is the organist.

Sunday School for all ages is held at 9:30 a.m. in the Educational Building.

The public is cordially invited to attend all the services. The church is handicapped accessible.

A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Road.

Easter Eggstravaganza

CHAMBERSBURG - The second annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held at Christian Life Church, 1400 Warm Spring Road, Saturday, March 22. Registration will open at 9 a.m. and the egg hunt will begin promptly at 10 a.m., entertainment will be at 11:30, and prize drawings will be held at approximately 12:30 p.m. Prizes include bikes, skateboards, scooters, and Webkinz.

Games, inflatables and the egg hunt are for children up to age 12. There will be free food for all.

The rain date is Saturday, March 29.

Thursday, March 20, Maundy Thursday Service, 7 p.m., Community Service joining the following churches: Heidelberg, Salem Lutheran Evangelical and Marion First UMC, hosted by Marion First UMC, Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altar, under the direction of Rev. Adam Leeper, Rev. Denise Horn and pastor Chris Renner.

Friday, March 21, Community Good Friday Service, 7 p.m., combining of Heidelberg, Marion First UMC, Marion Mennonite and Salem Lutheran Evangelical, telling the story of Jesus' crucifixion through the cantata "The Weeping Tree," written by Joseph M. Martin and sung by the Marion Community Choir, hosted at Marion Mennonite. 4365 Molly Pitcher Highway.

Sunday, March 23, Sunrise Service at church parking lot of Marion First UMC, 6:45 a.m., following by light breakfast in Social Hall; 9:30 to 11 a.m., Combined Service, Holy Communion and special music by choir, directed by Owen Myers.

MARION - All are invited to the Easter Services Sunday, March 23 at the Marion Mennonite Church, 4365 Molly Pitcher Highway, beginning with an early service at 7:30 a.m. Light breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. in the fellowship center. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9 a.m. and worship begins as 10:15 a.m. Nursery care will be available.
