Blue Devil Dispatch
One for the memory
By JAI E. COURTER Echo Pilot

Jordan Statler pulls up for a jumper against Manheim Central.
The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devil boys' varsity basketball team showed once again that they can compete with anyone during a thrilling quadruple overtime District 3-AAA semifinal at the Giant Center Monday evening. G-A ended up on the short end of a 93-85 final against Susquehanna Township in a game that can be a considered a classic.

The Devils took on the top ranked team in the state for the second time in that past few weeks in the final four round. G-A wasn't going to let a sixpoint loss the first time around concern them. Instead the Devils snapped at the Indians' heels for four quarters before making it a dogfight in the end and for four overtimes until Township hung on for the victory.

G-A, which had already clinched a state playoff berth, will play for third-place and the third seed from District 3, against Daniel Boone Thursday.

Blue Devil hoopsters punched their ticket to the state tournament again and a G-A wrestler advanced to district competition last week.

Jordan Gembe hit a three to give the Devils their first lead of the half with just under four minutes left in the third quarter. The Devils went on a big run following the three-pointer including nine points from Dameatric Scott in the run. The Devils were able to hold on once they took the lead and went on to win 62-49.

Eastern York led 19-14 midway through the second quarter, but the Devils kicked it in gear to end the half on a 20-5 run giving them a 34-24 halftime lead. Scott, Gembe, and Trevor Ile each hit threes to get the run going before half.
