Fridgen and Okilj named G-A Students of the Month

NOEL FRIDGEN and VEDRAN OKILJ
Noel Fridgen and Vedran Okilj have been chosen as Greencastle Antrim High School Students of the Month for February.

The program, conducted during the months of the academic year, is sponsored by the Greencastle Lions and Greencastle- Antrim Lioness clubs. Selection of the students honored is done by faculty members and is based on service to school and community, extra-curricular activities, academic standards, discipline and attitude.

The daughter of Joel and Pat Fridgen, Noel is in the college preparatory curriculum and maintains a dual enrollment at Penn State Mont Alto in the Early to-College program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is a Distinguished Honor Roll student.

Noel participates in Drama Club, Student Council, Peer Leaders and is vice president of the senior class.

Outside of school she is a cashier at Food Lion and attends church youth group. Her hobbies include dance, texting and sleeping.

Noel was named Food Lion Employee of the Quarter and received the Art I Award, Latin I Award and Outstanding Social Studies Award at G-AHS. She placed in the local and district Voice of Democracy contests.

She plans to attend Penn State University Park to major in psychology.

The son of Mirko and Kadira Okilj, Vedran is in the college preparatory curriculum. He is also enrolled at Penn State Mont Alto and been named to the Dean's List. He has received GAHS Student Recognition awards.

Vedran participates in Environmental Club, Drama Club, Tumani Ambassadors and Student Council. He works at Food Lion, where he was named Employee of the Quarter, and volunteers at Chambersburg Hospital.

He enjoys drama, music, soccer, volunteering and spending time with friends.

After graduation he plans to attend Penn State University Park to major in pre-medicine.
