Gunman apprehended The man responsible for the Feb. 7 and 8 lockdown in the Greencastle-Antrim School District was taken into custody Friday near Chambersburg Hospital. Pennsylvania State Police say Gregory Aaron Rouzer had intended to surrender at the PSP barracks in McConnellsburg, but they received word from his attorney that he would be at the hospital Feb. 15. He was arrested without incident between 5 and 6 p.m. in the presence of the attorney and a family member. Rouzer, 40, shot Randolph Walters at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 7 at Walters' Belfast Township home in Fulton County. Walters received three gunshot wounds and was treated at York Hospital. He was released Feb. 13. Rouzer disappeared into the woods and was not seen for nine days. G-ASD administrators locked down the campus for two days because they said Rouzer might believe his children attended school in the district. Fulton County schools took similar precautions. Rouzer was charged with attempted murder and held at Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail. |
