Police Reports

Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 597-9506.):

A car parked in the driveway at 146 Baumgardner Drive was entered between 7 p.m. Feb. 6 and 7 a.m. Feb. 7. Doug Stumbaugh reported that the prescription Foricet was stolen.

Another theft from a motor vehicle occurred between Feb. 6 and 7 at 14 W. Walter Ave. Kay and Robert Straley reported that cash, coins, candy bars, compact discs and an ashtray were taken from two vehicles.

A juvenile involved in the assault of a 13-year-old male at the rear of Greencastle-Antrim High School Feb. 5 was charged with simple assault through Franklin County Juvenile Probation. An 18-year-old male was already arrested for participating in the incident.

Heather R. Quashine, 227 S. Antrim Way, Apt. 14, was charged with disorderly conduct at 7:42 a.m. Feb. 9. She told police she was trying to waken her friend to retrieve a portable digital disc player. In pounding on the door and throwing a soda bottle at the bedroom window, she also woke at least one neighbor.

A hit-and-run was reported at 9:18 p.m. Feb. 14 by John Stine, 339 Leitersburg St. He told police he had parked his vehicle in front of his home and when he returned an hour later noticed damage on the driver side of his 2004 blue Jeep.

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at

264-5161.):

Brad Crump, manager of Travel Centers of America, reported that someone pumped $801.10 worth of diesel fuel into his tractor truck and drove away without paying. The theft occurred between 2:20 and 2:40 a.m. Feb. 3 at 10835 John Wayne Drive.

Leslie Abram Hykes, 14891 Molly Pitcher Highway S., was the victim of identity theft/theft by deception. Someone opened a cell phone account through AT&T using his name and charged $3,269.98 to the account between May 1 and Feb. 11.

Toby Fritz, 756 Campion Court, reported that he has had an ongoing problem with criminal mischief every Friday night. The latest incident occurred at 11:34 p.m. Feb. 8 when someone broke two lights in front of his house. Other neighbors have also had property damage or their doorbells rung.

Police continue to investigate an attempted theft at 13790 Molly Pitcher Highway. Construction equipment belonging to Charles Eckstine was stored at this location and a suspicious vehicle was observed in the area at 9:25 p.m. Feb. 7. Daryl S. Woodring, 21, Waynesboro, told police he worked for Eckstine, but according to the police report, Eckstine said he did not know Woodring. A set of forklift extensions for a small vehicle, valued at $1500, was the target of the theft.

A vehicle belonging to Philip Paulson, Greencastle, was scratched while it was parked at Buckhorn Restaurant, 10835 John Wayne Dr., between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Feb. 15.
