G-ASD kindergarten registration set

The Greencastle-Antrim School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2008-2009 school year April 9, 10, 11, 14 and 15. Parents are requested to call 597- 2183 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a registration appointment. The registration will be held at the Greencastle-Antrim Primary School, 504 East Leitersburg St.

Appointments should be made before March 14.

On registration day parents must present the child's birth certificate, immunization records, social security card and two proofs of residency in the Greencastle-Antrim School District.

Immunizations required by law are the following:

Diphtheria and Tetanus - Four or more properly spaced doses with one dose given at 4 years of age or older.

Polio - Three or more properly spaced doses.

Measles (Rubeola) - Two doses. First dose given at 1 year of age or older (preferably MMR).

German Measles (Rubella) - One dose given at 1 year of age or older (preferably MMR).

Mumps - One dose given at 1 year of age or older (preferably MMR).

Hepatitis B - Three properly spaced doses.

Varicella (Chicken Pox) - One dose at 1 year of age or older, or had the disease.

To enter kindergarten a child must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2008.
