TOPS ends month with fun event

Greencastle TOPS ( Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1003 met Tuesday, Jan. 29, for its last meeting of the month at Antrim Assembly of God church, Bemisderfer Road.

The best "loser" for the month of January is Carol Anderson. The ongoing OOPS contest ended with Deb Freeman as the winner. Eight new members joined the club in January.

A new contest began in January originated by member, Di Hartmire. Members will be making "snowmen" by following a list of guideline each week.

Programs for January included: Jan. 1 - No meeting - holiday; Jan. 8 - Buddy Night, Goals, and Awards, by leader, Kitty Dice; Jan. 25 - Open House, hosted by Mabel Hogue and Anna Mae Smith, theme was "New Year-New You!"; Jan. 22 - Calories - by co-leader Brenda Harp; Jan. 29 - Fun Night, with Brenda Harp and Melissa Izer in charge. The club enjoyed playing a TOPS version of Wheel of Fortune. (Fun Night is always on the fifth Tuesday of the months with five Tuesdays.)

Awards were presented to deserving members for their achievements during the months of October, November and December, 2007.

Greencastle TOPS 1003 meets every Tuesday evening with weigh in from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. and the meeting from 6:35 to 7:30 p.m.
