Fifth-graders open with win in travel league

The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils fifth-grade basketball team won its first game in the Gettysburg fifth-grade Travel League Sunday evening.

G-A won a tightly contested game with a 27-24 victory versus Smithsburg, which evened their record to one win and one loss. Cody Green scored 10 points and Matthew Kline added nine points including one three-point basket. Kurt Hansen scored six points and led the team in rebounds with eight. Aaron Peer completed the scoring by adding two points.

Green, Myles Gayman and Bobby Rider added three rebounds apiece. G-A resumes play next Sunday against Boiling Springs.

The team roster also includes Michael Myers, Josiah Hissong, Bailey Parker, Griffin Remenick, J.D. Howell and Cole Ingream.
