DeWalt, Copenhaver honored as Students of the Month

ROXANNE DEWALT AND MATTHEW COPENHAVER
Roxanne DeWalt and Matthew Copenhaver have been chosen as Greencastle-Antrim Students of the Month for January.

The program, conducted during the months of the academic year, is sponsored by the Greencastle Lions and Greencastle- Antrim Lioness club. Selection of the students honored is based on service to school and community, extra-curricular activities, academic standards, discipline and attitude.

Roxanne, daughter of Wade and Tammy DeWalt, is in the early-to-college program. She is on the executive committee of the National Honor Society, president of the senior class, fundraising chairman of the Tumani Ambassadors, and a member of Peer Leaders, Environmental Club and the Big Brother Big Sister Program. She plays varsity field hockey and varsity softball.

Roxanne works at Dick's Sporting Goods and interns at physical therapy clinics for Greencastle Health Services and Chambersburg Hospital. She plays on the East Coast Field Hockey club team.

She has been recognized on the Distinguished Honor Roll and with Academic Achievement awards. She was the 2007 Homecoming Queen, a threetime varsity field hockey Most Valuable Player and on the Field Hockey Mid-Penn 1st team in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Roxanne enjoys hanging out with family and friends, listening to music and playing X-Box 360. She plans to major in physical therapy in college and eventually run her own clinic.

Matthew, son of Kevin and Lisa Copenhaver, is in the earlyto college program. He is a Distinguished Honor Roll student as well as a member of the National Honor Society.

He participates in football and wrestling. He was named Mid-Penn Colonial Defensive Most Valuable Player and made the All-State Academic Wrestling Team.

Matthew was a finalist for the Lenfest Scholarship. Outside of school he belongs to Grace United Church of Christ youth group and works at Greencastle Greens.

He enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing and weight-lifting.

Following graduation, he plans to attend college and major in mathematics and economics.
