Shippensburg U receives $3.7 million from state system

SHIPPENSBURG - Shippensburg University has received $3.7 million in performance funding distributed by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), more than double what the university got last year when it received about $1.8 million.

"Receipt of these funds shows that Shippensburg provides students with a quality education while it continues to improve its performance in relation to the key indicators established by the Board of Governors," said university President William N. Rudd. "The fact that the university more than doubled the amount it received is a testament to the cooperation and teamwork that's necessary for an organization to succeed."

According to PASSHE Board of Governors Chairman Kenneth M. Jarin, "Working in tandem with PASSHE's System Accountability Program, performance funding clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing students the highest quality education and Pennsylvania taxpayers with the maximum return on their investment in our Universities."
