Louise E. Diehl Louise E. (College) Diehl, 87, of 200 N. Main St., Apt. 301, Chambersburg, and formerly of Greencastle, died at 12:15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg. She had been in failing health for the past two weeks. Born Nov. 17, 1920 in Welsh Run, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hamill) College. She and her husband, the late Norman J. Diehl, were married April 2, 1955. They lived at 330 Madison St., Greencastle, for many years prior to moving to their present residence seven years ago. Mr. Diehl died Dec. 11, 2005. Mrs. Diehl worked at Shoemaker's Auto Upholstery Shop, Chambersburg and Corning Glass, Greencastle. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Harry D. Ziegler V.F.W. Post 6319, Greencastle. Mrs. Diehl enjoyed helping other people and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Stahl of Evans City; four grandchildren, Douglas Diehl, Dianne Fluehr, Michael Stahl and Mark Stahl; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn McCarron, Erma Shoemaker and Clara Lohman; two brothers, David College and Harvey College; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Edwin Diehl; and three brothers, Calvin College, Paul College and Boyd College. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, with Rev. Michael Miller, officiating. There will be no public viewing.
