Court reports The following cases were recently docketed before Magisterial District Judge Duane Cunningham: Jessica Nicole McCanuel, 21, 14806 Maryland Line Road, was charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to sell and criminal use of a communication facility after undercover officers purchased heroin from her twice. The incidents took place at 26-28 Carlisle St. between Oct. 11 and 16. Police report that McCanuel gave them a baggie with foil packs inside in exchange for $40 both times. The substances were tested at the Pennsylvania State Police Harrisburg regional laboratory. McCanuel was released on $20,000 bail. A Fayetteville man was charged with driving under the influence and other traffic violations following an accident at McClanahan Road at Grindstone Hill Road. James Orion Ball, 41, was driving a 1979 Ford F100 that crashed into the rear of a 1998 GMC Sonoma driven by Douglas Statler of Chambersburg at 10:03 a.m. Oct. 19. Ball was transported to Chambersburg Hospital where his blood alcohol content was found to be .156 percent. A Greencastle man was taken to Chambersburg Hospital for a drug overdose at 3:36 a.m. Sept. 19. Pennsylvania State Police responded to 28 W. Dahlgren St. Alice St. Clark stated she had called 911 and administered mouth-to-mouth resusitation on Joseph Brooks Clark until the ambulance arrived. Clark, 34, faces drug charges for possession of 1.2 grams of heroin and a needle. Justin Lee Ruckman, 30, Fayetteville, was charged with multiple traffic offenses as well as driving under the influence following an accident at 11:37 p.m. Oct. 6. He crashed his 1996 Honda Accord into a telephone pole on Hill Road. The vehicle rolled and he was trapped. After being freed by rescue personnel, he was flown by helicopter to York Hospital. His blood alcohol content was .196 percent. Eric Jordan Scott, 21, Shippensburg, was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substances after a small amount of marijuana and a glass smoking device were found in his vehicle. Police responded to a call at 12719 Williamsport Pike at 9:43 a.m. Sept. 29. A theft from a vehicle on South Carlisle Street Aug. 7 resulted in charges against a Chambersburg man. Travis Warren Atherton reported the theft of a Pioneer DEK23000 radio while his car was parked. He told police that on Aug. 11 Kenneth Mentzer, 19, contacted him that he would return the radio for $200. The two met at McDonald's and Atherton said he did not have the money, but would give it to him later. Mentzer then allegedly gave Atherton the radio. Greencastle police charged Mentzer with receiving stolen property and attempted theft by extortion. |
