A large crowd gathered at the Greencastle VFW at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. The Armistice was signed in 1918, marking the official end of World War I. Since then people have gathered annually to remember the troops in all wars, with the name changed to Veteran's Day in 1954.
"There's something wrong here, son," said Preston Oberholzer as he and Chandler, 11, set up their tent along the Conococheague Creek during the Boy Scout Camporee. Chandler is a member of Pack 13 Webelos. His troop joined the Pack 99 Boy Scouts for a weekend of friendly skills competition.
It was a wet night on Kaley Field Friday for the first home district game in G-A football history.
