Madeline M. Bible

Madeline M. (Gelsinger) Bible, 93, a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, since 1999 and formerly of Waynesboro and Littlestown, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 in the nursing center.

Born Dec. 25, 1913 in Kauffman Station, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Blanche (Stickel) Gelsinger.

She was a homemaker and had also worked at the former Heinz Co. in Chambersburg.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She attended Brown's Mill School.

She also attended the Greencastle Senior Center and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.

Her first husband, Wilbur R. Thomas, died in 1957 and her second husband, Brosie Bible, died in 1995.

She was the last of her immediate family.

She is survived by sons, John G. "Red" Davis of Greencastle, Leroy F. Thomas of Fayetteville, David Thomas of Hanover and Charles Lester Thomas of Pompano Beach, Fla.; daughter, Catherine L. Gehrett of Shippensburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis E. Thomas, in 2000; two brothers; and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Shanks Church Of The Brethren Cemetery, near Greencastle, with Pastor James Thomas officiating.

Arrangements were made by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
