Police reports

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264- 5161.):

Alan Decker, 18, Greencastle was charged with corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia following an incident at 10 p.m. Oct. 25. Police investigating the runaway of a juvenile found her at an abandoned house on Williamsport Pike one-quarter mile south of U.S. 11. Decker and another juvenile were also present. One youth was a 15- year-old from State Line and the other a 16-year-old from Greencastle.

Police said all three were smoking marijuana. They also allege Decker had sex with both female juveniles, who were each charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia as well.

John William Desyk II, 22, Mercersburg, is accused of concealing the whereabouts of a child. He allegedly aided a 16-year-old girl running away from the lawful custody of a foster care home before 6 a.m. Oct. 31. The juvenile was located at Desyk's residence at 9810 S. Rabbit Road at 1 p.m. that day. She was charged with resisting arrest when she fought with troopers taking her into custody.

Desyk was also charged with corruption of minors in District Court 39-3-06.

An Ashland, Ky. man was cited for disorderly conduct for urinating in public at 12:50 p.m. Nov. 4. Michael Murphy was reported for his behavior at the Interstate 81 Welcome Center northbound onramp.

Wendy Dawn Redick-Mills, 40, Greencastle, was charged with harassment for allegedly slapping Gloria Dawn Schaffer, 58, Hagerstown, Md. in the face twice at 14882 Sherwood Drive. They were involved in an argument at 4 p.m. Nov. 5.

Leroy Daniel Brown, 67, reported the theft of a knife and leatherman tool from a vehicle parked at 295 Kauffman St. in Antrim Township. The theft occurred between 2 p.m. Nov. 2 and 8 a.m. Nov. 5.

Thomas Auto Supply, 7439 Molly Pitcher Highway, was the victim of criminal mischief Nov. 6 or 7. Someone damaged the rear door of the business.

Michael Oliver O'Reilly of Greencastle was charged with retail theft and possession of suspected heroin Nov. 6. He was arrested at 8 p.m. at Walmart, 1730 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg.

Someone opened a credit card in the name of Orville Burkholder Strite Jr. and charged $64.91 on Oct. 20. Strite, 38, 8935 Kline Drive, did not have knowledge of or give permission for the card.

A tree stand was found in the 15000 block of North Young Road at 5:56 p.m. Nov. 11. Anyone with information should contact police and refer to incident H03- 1712998.

Several unlocked vehicles were entered between 9 p.m. Nov. 6 and 4:30 a.m. Nov. 7 on Waxwing Drive and Tall Cedar Lane. The person stole a .380 handgun, 33mm camera, GPS locator and change. The items were discarded in the lawns in the area. The vehicles belonged to Elizabeth Grace Souders, Robert Charles Gray and Kelly Eugene Marconi.

Carrie Elizebeth Taubert, 128 S. Jefferson St., was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Nov. 6 and charged with five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Troopers had responded to her residence attempting to locate a theft suspect.

A one-vehicle accident at 7:23 a.m. Nov. 7 resulted in no injuries for Guido Roche, 19, no address given. According to police, Roche was traveling south on Molly Pitcher Highway near Box 13821 in a 1999 Nissan Maxima when he fell asleep. His car traveled off the western berm, struck a mailbox, then a utility pole, then two more mailboxes and finally a tree. It came to rest facing southwest.
