Carillon continues to ring

MERCERSBURG - From the bells of the Barker Tower of the Mercersburg Academy Chapel, the remaining 2007 carillon concerts will feature resident Carillonneur James W. Smith and guest performers from across the nation. Held at 3 p.m. each Sunday unless otherwise noted, the concerts are free of charge and open to the public.

Visitors are encouraged to climb the tower prior to the performance or sit inside the Chapel during inclement weather.

The remaining schedule is as follows: Nov. 11 - Janet Tebbel, Philadelphia; Nov. 30- James W. Smith, 7 p.m. (Patron Concert, 8 p.m.); Dec. 1 - James W. Smith, 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. (Community Chorus, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.); Dec. 2 - James W. Smith, 2 p.m. (Community Chorus, 3 p.m.); Dec. 16 - James W. Smith, 3 and 6:30 p.m. (Candlelight Service, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.); Dec. 24 - James W. Smith, midnight; Dec. 30 - Charles Farris, midnight.
