United teams to go for championships

Greencastle United Soccer Club continues to stack up wins as the season wides to its conclusion.
Hannah Crist scored two goals and Ally Rudy added another in the U10 girls soccer team 3-0 defeat of the Shippensburg Sparks. Meghan Hirneissen and Sydney Shepherd each had one assist. The 6-1 U10 girls remain in first place of their division with one game remaining.
The U12 girls team won an exciting game against first place Chambersburg. Tabby Rudy scored a breakaway goal in the second half for a 1-0 Greencastle victory. This win puts the Greencastle U12 girls team in first place in their division.
The U 18 girls won decisively in a 7-0 defeat of the Boiling Springs Lady Bubblers.
The Greencastle U9 boys team defeated the Gettysburg Red Rockets 2-0. Hunter Barnes scored both goals, the second on a well struck corner kick. Joe Eberhardt was flawless in goal while Logan Shifflett and Nathan Starliper stifled Gettysburg with strong defense. The U9 boys team will play Dillsburg this week for the championship of their division.

In the U10 boys contest, Greencastle tied Chambersburg 1-1. Corey Monn scored the lone goal for United. Casey Hoover and Matthew Kline had seven combined saves in goal. The second place United U10 boys play the first place Campbelltown Lions this weekend in their final game of the season.
The United U12 boys team tied the Elizabethtown Rheems Raiders for the second time this season, 3-3. The U12 team is undeafeated with a record of four wins and three ties.
The U14 boys game was rained out and they will be in action this coming weekend against first place Gettysburg.
