Students selected for youth band fest

Five Greencastle-Antrim Middle School students have been selected to participate in the 2007 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 7 Youth Band Fest to be held at the James Buchanan Middle School on Nov. 2 and 3.

Sixth graders Joanna Scott, Molly Nowell, Cameron Schroy, Ellie Kotrady and Christian Gleason will be joining student musicians from nine counties in south central Pennsylvania to form two honor bands. The bands will present a concert Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m.

The Greencastle-Antrim students will be playing in the white band under the direction of Dr. David Zerull, assistant band director at Shenandoah University, Winchester, Va. Paul A. Grane, instrumental music instructor and band director of the Greencastle Antrim School District, will be the guest conductor for the green band.
