Police reports

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264- 5161.):

Someone broke into the residence of Walter Shives, 485 Buchanan Trail West, and stole forty feet of copper pipe from the basement as well as three items made by DeWalt: an 18-volt cordless drill, charger and battery. The burglary occurred between midnight and 10 a.m. Oct. 25.

Cassandra Shook of Greencastle reported that someone took a white Apple iPOD from her purse at McDonald's, 721 Buchanan Trail East, between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 14.

Avehicle stolen from Minnesota was recovered at the TA Truck Stop on Oct. 5.

A green plastic garbage can was stolen from Howard Bingaman, 11838 Stull Road, between midnight and 9 a.m. Oct. 24.

A 16-year-old State Line youth is charged with unlawful taking or disposition, firearms not to be carried without a license and firearms not to be carried by a minor for allegedly stealing a Davis Industries .3280 caliber semi-automatic handgun. The victim was Shawn Kilgore, 15484 Skyline Drive. The male youth allegedly stole the gun between 8 a.m. May 17 and 2 p.m. May 20 and took it to a party in Chambersburg where he showed it to friends, according to police. He stuffed the weapon in a couch when police arrived.
