G-A beats out five other bands

READING - The Greencastle Antrim High School Field Band rose to the top of a six-band competition Saturday, October 20.

The local group scored an 85.75 to claim the American Conference (Group 2) category of the Reading Competition. The rest of the group finished as follows: 2. Conrad Weiser, 83.65; 3. Conestoga Valley, 81.85; 4. Littlestown, 80.45; 5. Annville Cleona, 79.1; 6. North Schuylkill, 72.05.

The next performance of the band will be in the Greencastle Halloween parade that begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. Later that evening the band will perform its show during halftime of the Jefferson at G-A football game on Kaley Field. The band will then travel to the Manheim Central Competition at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
