Dorcas M. Brake

Dorcas M. Brake, 87, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg for nearly three years, and formerly of Greencastle, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at 3:50 p.m. in Providence Place.

Born April 14, 1920 in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Shives) Keyser.

Her husband, Clyde C. Brake, died May 13, 1979.

She retired from the former Stanley Company of Chambersburg and did baking at the former Chefs Kitchen Restaurant in Greencastle.

She was a graduate of the St. Thomas High School.

Mrs. Brake was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greencastle.

She served as a volunteer at the Kauffman Ruritan dinners and enjoyed baking, gardening and traveling.

She is survived by two daughters, Audrey G. Harmon of Chambersburg and Suzanne K. (wife of James L.) Miller of Douglassville; a sister, Sara Mc- Gowan of Chambersburg; four grandsons, James Harmon, Douglas Harmon, Steven Miller and David Mille; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Services were held the morning of Saturday, Oct. 20 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, with Rev. Martin H. Horn officiating.

Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA. 17225 or to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA. 17201.

Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.
