Borough to discuss employee vacancies

Seventeen people returned applications for police chief and the borough of Greencastle will now determine how to narrow the field. The Public Safety Committee planned to meet Oct. 24 to evaluate the qualifications of each candidate. Borough manager Ken Myers said it would select the top three or four applicants and bring their names to the Borough Council at its next regular meeting Nov. 5.

At that time the council will likely schedule interviews for the finalists, he said.

The council will also hold a special meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25. The purpose is to discuss the borough manager vacancy, since Myers has resigned. His last day of work is Nov. 9. The following Monday he begins his duties as borough manager of Huntingdon.
