Vendors, entertainers needed for Heritage Christmas

The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce is busily preparing for the 17th annual Heritage Christmas celebration.

The festivities will begin Nov. 10 and 11 with the Shoppes of Greencastle Holiday Open House, during which participating merchants in the borough of Greencastle and Antrim Township will offer incentives to shoppers such as longer hours, discounts, refreshments and gift wrapping.

On the evening of Friday, Nov. 16, thousands will gather on the square for the Tree Lighting, returning the next morning for VersTandig Broadcasting's Christmas Parade.

The three Friday evenings of Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 will see the square and beyond bustling with activity as folks visit downtown Greencastle to go shopping while enjoying the various forms of entertainment, including musicians, horse and buggy rides, clowns and gingerbread decorating.

"We are in need of vendors and entertainers for those three Friday nights. We are looking for carolers and musicians, as well as for folks with Christmas-related items to sell. Many non-profits, for example, do fund raising this time of year. Why not set up a table on the square?" said Bill Gour, the chamber's executive director.

Anyone interested in participating in Heritage Christmas should contact the G-A Chamber of Commerce at 597-4610 or info@greencastlepachamber.org

In order to be included in the Heritage Christmas brochure, please contact the Chamber by Oct. 8.
