Heritage Christmas Lights of Love deadline approaching The deadline for registering for the Greencastle-Antrim Heritage Christmas Lights of Love program is approaching. "We always have those folks who do not get their forms in on time, or who hear about the lights after it is too late and we feel bad when we have to tell them that we will not be able to add any more names to the scrolls," said Bill Gour, the Chamber's executive director. The program helps decorate the Christmas tree on the square in Greencastle. For $6 one of the lights on the tree can be designated "In Celebration Of" or "In Memory Of" a loved one. The name of the person celebrated or remembered will be recorded on a beautiful scroll, which will be on display in the window of the First National Bank of Greencastle. In addition, an acknowledgement card can be mailed to the person honored. In order to have time to record the names on the scroll, the committee requests the information be received at the chamber office by Nov. 8. An acknowledgement card will still be mailed for requests received after that date, but names will not be recorded on the scroll. The Lights of Love scrolls will be showcased at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will be held on the square in Greencastle at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. The scroll will remain on display throughout Heritage Christmas. Lights of Love forms are available at the Chamber office at 217 E. Baltimore St. and at all financial institutions in the Greencastle-Antrim area. Forms need to be completed and returned, along with a check for $6 per name, to the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 175, Greencastle, PA 17225. People wishing to participate, but not able to pick up a form at one of the locations, are asked to call the Chamber of Commerce at 717- 597-4610, to request that a form be mailed to them. |
