Bank unveils new web site

The First National Bank of Greencastle recently unveiled a new and improved web site that combines the latest security features with a user-friendly format that makes online banking safer and easier than ever.

Jeff Shank, president of the First National Bank of Greencastle, said the new web site at www.fnbgc.com will appeal to Internet users of all experience levels, allowing even novice computer users to enjoy the ease and convenience of online banking.

"We take great pride in providing our valued customers the best, most technologically advanced banking services," Shank said. "More than 140 years after the bank's founding, that commitment to customer service remains as strong as ever in the age of the Internet."

The new site also incorporates the banking industry's most advanced security features to ensure that all transactions are safeguarded.

"Banking security was our top priority in developing the new web site," Mr. Shank said. "Our customers can be assured that their accounts and transactions will in no way be compromised by taking advantage of Internet banking."

Bank customers can access savings and checking accounts, transfer funds, make loan payments, as well as receive notification when their balances fall below a set amount during a month. Online banking at The First National Bank of Greencastle is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is free. There is a demonstration program provides a step-bystep enrollment process.

Marketing Manager Julie Tarquino said the web site was designed for easy navigation, allowing customers to access up-to-date information on their accounts, as well as information on wealth management, lines of credit and many other services offered by the bank.

"It was important to make the web site easy to use," Tarquino said. "In addition, we wanted to provide customers the convenience of one-stop shopping for the many services the bank provides."

The bank also earned the "A Bobby" designation certifying that the web site was designed to make it as easy as possible for people with disabilities, including visual impairment.

When an online banking user wants to speak to a customer service representative or other bank official, a "Contact Us" tab provides an e-mail link directly to the bank, as well as a full listing of all 16 branches, including phone numbers and hours of operation for both lobby and drive-up banking. There is information on the history of The First National Bank of Greencastle, as well as an "In the News" category providing updates on developments like the construction start for the new branch in Mercersburg.
