Blue Devils win battle

      The 6-1 Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils traveled to Memorial Park on Saturday for a Mid- Penn Colonial Division battle against 6-1 Shippensburg. The Devils¿ fourth quarter surge gave them a 27-7 victory over the Greyhounds.

      The Greencastle-Antrim High School varsity soccer team was edged 2-1 in its preliminary round District 3- AA contest with Schuylkill Valley Monday on Kaley Field. Jordan Springer scored a goal midway through the second half, however the Blue Devils were unable to overcome a 2-0 halftime deficit.

      Field Hockey The Blue Devils finished out their season on Monday at home against West Perry. They held on for much of the game but let up a second half goal to fall 2-1. The Devils came out strong and almost got on the board first on a Roxanne Dewalt shot but it was kicked out by the goalie.

Two Eagles teams make KYFLplayoffs
      Two of the Greencastle teams have advanced to the Keystone Youth Football League playoffs. The mid-varsity Eagles and the varsity Eagles will compete in the league championship series. Actual seedings and game schedule were not determined as of presstime.

      MERCERSBURG - Dennis Evans of Williamsport Md. scored a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at the Whitetail Golf Resort Tuesday, Oct. 16. The hole was playing 109 yards. Evans used a Pitching wedge. His playing partners were George Wilt, Greg Aleshire and Randy Stepheson.
