CHAMBERSBURG - The First National Bank of Greencastle, which has been a Wilson College Community Partner since 2000, has again committed to the program, joining the college as a community partner at the blue level. Jeff B. Shank, president and chief executive officer of the bank, presented a check for $1,000 to Wilson College President Lorna Duphiney Edmundson Sept. 27.
The First National Bank of Greencastle, which is owned by Tower Bancorp Inc., operates 16 offices in Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania and Washington County, Maryland. It employs 180 people.
"With our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve, we welcome the opportunity to help Wilson continue its pursuit of excellence and diversification in higher education," Shank said.
The Community Partner Program at Wilson is designed to forge meaningful partnerships between the college and the community. Benefits for a bluelevel partner - which requires a minimum $1,000 investment - include a 10 percent discount on tuition, 10 percent discount on use of college facilities and 10 tickets to a cultural event at Wilson. Blue-level partners also are featured on Wilson's web site and receive recognition in Wilson's alumnae magazine four times a year.
Those participating in the check presentation were Edmundson; Shank; Deb Scalia, Lincoln Way East community office manager; Linda Provard, branch administrator; and Denise McDowell, director of the Wilson Fund.
