Police reports Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports: No one was injured in a three-vehicle collision at 2:44 p.m. Sept. 28. Charles McLaren, 66, 7967 Molly Pitcher Highway, was northbound on U.S. 11 in a 1998 Buick Century. He struck the rear of a 1991 Chevy Metro driven by Christian Tapia, 21, Chambersburg, which was stopped for traffic at Route 16. Tapia in turn struck the rear of a 1999 Chevy Blazer driven by Connie Kauffman, 38, Smithsburg, Md. The Metro was towed from the scene. McLaren was cited for careless driving. Adam Joshua Sweitzer, no age or address given, faces charges of driving under the influence and careless driving following an incident at 12:36 a.m. Oct. 6. He reportedly pulled out of Casey's Bar at 155 S. Antrim Way, nearly causing an accident with a marked patrol car. He was stopped in Center Square and transported to Waynesboro Hospital. His BAC was .014 percent. Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264-5161.): Andrew Allen Miller, 32, Greencastle, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 16 and U.S. 11 at 1 a.m. Oct. 6. Richard Paul Patrick, 35, 264 Walnut St., reported to police that someone stole vehicle parts from his driveway. The theft occurred prior to 10:24 a.m. Oct. 10. A Greencastle man was charged with criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance following a drug bust at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 29. Jared Charles Tinninis, 19, was the driver of a 1990 Plymouth minivan that parked at the Chambersburg Wal-Mart, 1730 Lincoln Way East. Kelvin James Savoy, 26, Fayetteville, allegedly had arranged to meet a buyer of one pound of marijuana in the parking lot. The buyer was an undercover officer. Police seized a gallonsized freezer bag of marijuana, a small plastic bag of marijuana from Savoy's front pocket, $388 and the van. Both men were arrested, arraigned and released on $50,000 unsecured bail, according to the police report. Savoy's charges included criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and criminal use of a communication facility. |
