No political experience? I'm surprised that Mrs. Cheryl Stearn is listing no political experience in her background. Those of us in St. Thomas Township are very familiar with Mrs. Stearn's political background. For those who aren't from our township, let me enlighten you to what St. Thomas has dealt with over the last several years. First, a group called FROST came in to save the township from a terrible quarry. Mrs. Stearn and her husband, Frank helped lead this group. FROST created division in the township that carried on for years. Needless to say, the quarry came in and is barely noticeable to the residents. STAND, a spinoff of FROST, deceitfully moved in and decided they wanted to evaluate our system of government in St. Thomas. What I mean by "deceitfully" is they manipulated the township so there would be little chance of anyone else getting on the ballot for a Home Rule Study. Did they educate the public on what they were doing? No; they put together their little group, STAND, and again created chaos in our little village. They claimed they wanted to better the community but they couldn't tell us how. When other citizens tried to get on the ballot, to balance out the group, they were sued by STAND to get them off. Judge Walker allowed the group to stay on; then STAND took them to court in Harrisburg to try and get them off the ballot. They were successful, but the citizens then ran as write-ins against STAND. The vote was 1,400 (citizens) to 350 (STAND) on a non-presidential year with a 53 percent turnout. That should tell you what St. Thomas thinks about Mrs. Stearn's so-called "transparent" government. I hope you do your homework before you vote. I am voting for Bob Thomas because of his experience and Bob Ziobrowski because of his knowledge of real estate and taxes. Christina Faith St. Thomas |
