Supports Bob Ziobrowski for county commissioner

Bob Ziobrowski has my support as Franklin County Commissioner. He has the training and experience to "hit the ground running" on his first day in office.

I have known Bob and his wife Ann for over 20 years. Bob has volunteered literally thousands of hours in that time on the Chambersburg School Board, the Chambersburg School District Foundation Board, the Chambersburg Planning and Zoning Commission and the Chambersburg Hospital Board. He is a Chambersburg native whose father was a physician and mother was a teacher. He says community service is his way of repaying the many benefits he has received by living here.

As a woman, I have been proud that Cheryl Plummer has done such a good job as Franklin County Commissioner. She is retiring and will be sorely missed. Another "Cheryl" is running and has stated that we "need" a woman as commissioner. I disagree. We need leadership and decision-making that takes into account all the factors. We need sustainable growth and planning. Ms. Stern lacks even minimal credentials for the office. Mrs. Plummer is on the Election Board and can not endorse a candidate. But it should be noted that Bob Ziobrowski's fundraiser on Sept. 21 was hosted by Mrs. Plummer's husband, Ken.

As a mother and career professional living in Franklin County, I value the growth and the opportunities in front of us. Bob has the depth of experience and the impartiality to negotiate the best outcome for each and every opportunity. He is truly interested in the betterment of Franklin County and in preserving it as a wonderful place to raise children and work.

All things being equal, gender balance on the board of commissioners is desirable. But in this election, the difference in qualifications and experience between Bob Ziobrowski and Cheryl Stearn is significant and clearly the choice is Bob.

The two Republican will be elected easily. The only contest is the "minority" Democratic seat on the commission. I am an Independent who will vote for only one person - Bob Ziobrowski. I urge you to do the same Nov. 6.
