Found a home in Greencastle forever
Letter to the

My name is Debbie Talmadge and my family and I moved to Greencastle three months ago from Alabama leaving all family and friends behind. We really like Greencastle, but now have found a home forever.

On Sept. 26 I had stopped by the post office on the way to pick up my 5-year-old from kindergarden. When I came out my car battery was dead. A gentleman (whose name I did not get) tried jumping it.

My child does not ride the bus and I need to pick her up at 3:05. My husband was away in Allentown all week on business. As a mom in a new place, knowing no one, I really panicked when 3:05 came.

Lynn (from the post office) came out and gave me her car keys and car to go pick up my child. I was astounded. I took her up on the offer.

When I came back to the post office, several good citizens of Greencastle were helping me try to start my car, but with no luck; the battery was dead. Lynn then drove me home.

I wanted to publicly thank Greencastle for being such a warm and hospitable place. And Lynn has taught me the true Christian way of life. One day I hope to do that in return!
