The Blue Devils planned to get revenge on Williamsport after losing to them last season in five games and did just that. G-A pulled out an exciting 3-2 victory to remain unbeaten. The scores were 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 21-25, and 15-7.

Lutz led the team with 11 kills and eight blocks while Christman added seven kills and three blocks. Kelsey Gearhart also contributed with seven kills, four blocks, and nine digs.

Williamsport rallied at the end of game two to increase a 17-15 lead into a 24-15 lead. The Devils fought for two more points but couldn't come back and the second game ended at 25-17 to level out the match.

The third game was close for most of the game. Lutz spiked a Williamsport lob to make at 10-9 and Kortney Eshleman placed a nice shot in the corner to make it 14-13. The Devils took back the lead in the series after a 25-20 victory.

The Devils dropped the fourth game to knot the match back up. Christman got a roar from the stands after she demolished Eshleman's set to put the Devils within three. They couldn't overcome the deficit as they lost game four 25-21.

Julia Stein started the Devils off in game five with a spike for the game's first point. Lutz placed a soft shot over the net to put the Devils up 2-1. They held on to the lead for the remiander of the game and Lutz ended the game with a spike on Eshleman's set that deflected off the net and came down where no one could get to it.

Eshleman had six kills, 29 assists, and two aces, while Stein added six kills and two blocks.

Lutz stepped up in the third game by adding many blocks and kills. She gave them a 16-11 lead after spiking Eshleman's set and then added a block a few points later. Soccer

For the second time this season, the boys soccer team outplayed their opponent but ended on the losing side. The Devils fell 2-1 to Trinity on Tuesday night on a questionable call in the box that led to a penalty kick.

The Shamrocks found the net first just 1:40 into the game on a shot that slid through the kepper's hands. The Devils had a chance five minutes later when Josh Higman had a throw in deep in Shamrock territory that skimmed off Jai Courter's head but went wide of the goal.

Mac Frederick ripped a shot with his left foot at the 20 minute mark but it wasn't enough to make it past the goalie. Jordan Gembe had a free kick from midfield that was just ahead of Frederick which the goalie came out to get.

The Devils had their last attack of the first half when Jake Dempsey dribbled down the side and passed it to Evon Wiestling but he was tripped up and could not get a strong shot off. The Devils went into halftime trailing 1-0.

G-A attacked in the second half getting several shots on goal. Higman had a throw to Frederick who beat his defender and slid a nice pass through the defense to Wiestling who found the net to level the score 1-1 with less than 23 minutes to play.

The Devils continued to attack including a nice shot from Frederick a minute later that was deflected out by the keeper.

With 12 minutes to go, the referee made a game-changing foul call inside the box giving the Shamrocks a penalty kick. They converted to give them a 2-1 lead that could not be overcome.

The Devils only had one serious threat after the deciding goal. Frederick rocketed a shot into the corner forcing the goalie to make an incredible save to hold on to the lead. Higman had a long throw with seconds left and the Devils attacked but could not get a shot off before time expired.

The Devils outshot the opponent 27-15 and had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Christian Hoover had seven saves in goal.

Thursday's game at Milton Hershey was called off because of lightning and has been rescheduled for Oct. 15.

The Blue Devils hosted Boiling Springs on Wednesday in a non-league game. They could not find the cage in a game that ended 2-0. G-A almost took the lead in the first half when Sheena Koons got a shot off but it was deflected out of bounds by the keeper.

The ball was pinned deep in Devil territory for much of the remainder of the first half but the defense held strong for the most part. The defense stepped it up thanks to strong play from Rachel Statler, Jess Higman and Kari Monn.

The Devils let up a goal in each half but almost cut the deficit in half in the second half. Roxanne Dewalt passed the ball downfield to Steph Root who was one on one with the goalie, but her shot was barely stopped by the goalie.

The G-A Blue Devils were forced to settle with a tie against Susquenita Monday.

The Devils gave up two goals in the first half to put them down 2-0. They were playing hard but just couldn't put the ball in the cage. They came out of the half looking like a different team. Sarah Gipe rocketed a hard shot into the cage just 2:28 into the half. Jenna Lehman came up with the ball just 25 seconds later and started to march down the field. She passed it to Jenna Crunkleton at the top of the circle who fired a shot that deflected off the goalie's pads. Gipe was there for the deflection and she slif the ball past the keeper to level the score 2-2. Gipe completed her hat trick with 12 minutes left in the game by scoring her third goal giving the Devils a 3-2 edge. Football

The Blue Devils looked like two different teams in the two halves of the game against Northern. They dominated the first half to lead 21-6 but were overpowered in the second half 27-6 for a 34-27 loss, their first of the season.

Devin Schaeffer found Dustin Kelbaugh for a 14 yard touchdown pass to start the game. Schaeffer's PAT was good to give the Devils a 7-0 lead. The defense gave up a 65-yard touchdown run, but the PAT was no good so the Devils continued to lead 7-6. Jake Statler ran the ball into the end zone from five yards out. Schaeffer's two point conversion put the Devils up 15-6 at the end of the first quarter.

The only touchdown of the second quarter came on a one yard touchdown run by Schaeffer, but a failed PAT. The Devils went into the half leading 21-6. Schaeffer scored again on a oneyard touchdown run, but the conversion was no good. However, Northern forced a safety later in the quarter and then added seven more points to the board on a six yard touchdown pass and they converted the PAT.

The Devils entered the final quarter leading 27-16. The defense broke down on a 15-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion was good and the Devil's lead shrank to three. Greencastle gave up another touchdown with just under 1:30 left to go in the game on a twoyard run. The Devils could not answer and they went on to lose 30-27.

Schaeffer had six completions for 62 yards and also ran for 116 yards. Statler picked up 17 yards on six carries. Denver Cordell had nine carries for 14 yards, while Drew Deshong picked up 17 yards on two carries.

Linebacker Denton Ensminger led the Devils on defense with seven tackles.

Schaeffer, Statler, and Joe Dominic each contributed four tackles.

"We can point to a lot of issues that led to this loss but the bottom line is that our kids played very hard against a good team and I could not be any more pleased with them. Our team had the lead for 38 minutes and 36 seconds out of 40," said coach Don Chlebowski.

"We ask for maximum effort, and we get it every week."
