GHS Class of 1953 celebrates

The Greencastle High School Class of 1953 held their 54th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at the Antrim House Restaurant in Greencastle.

There were 25 class members in attendance and their guests, plus special guest Richard Gingrich and Mr. and Mrs. David Rhone.

The time together included social time renewing relationships, a class picture and a family style meal. The event brought travelers from many states. The evening concluded in singing their class song and a short business meeting planning a future time together. The next reunion will be on the first Saturday of Old Home Week, July 31, 2010 at the Antrim House in Greencastle.

The new officers are: Dale Gearhart, president; Marley Walck, secretary and Ruby Stouffer, treasurer. The reunion committee is: Lester Martin, Helen Gearhart, Betty Miller, Jean Rice and John Buchanan.

Class colors of green and white flower centerpieces were used and given away as door prizes. Class members serving on the committee were: Dale Gearhart as chairman, Lester Martin, Helen (Koons) Gearhart, Marley (Elliott) Walck as secretary, Ruby Stouffer as treasurer, Betty (Miller) Rowe, and Jean (Lindsay) Rice.
