Bear brings new life to tree

A friendly bear is greeting motorists at West Weaver and Worleytown Roads these days. And if people look closely enough, they will see an eagle behind it as well.
Marvin Brindle and his wife Grace had a big old maple tree in the side yard that needed to go.
"The limbs were getting bad and tangling with the overhead wires," said Brindle.
With the help of neighbor John Clark, he trimmed it down to the stump.
"I hesitated to pull it out," he added.
He was considering bulldozing it until daughter Kathy Hartle mentioned a chain-saw
