Missions rally

MERCERSBURG - A Missions Rally will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 with missionaries Mike and Debbie Hampton at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God, 20 N. Park Ave.

The Hamptons have been appointed to serve as Assemblies of God missionaries in the Netherlands Antilles, a group of islands in the southern Caribbean off the coast of Venezuela. They will be working with the local church in the areas of new church planting and leadership development.

Fall Fest

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - Gateway Ministries will hold a fall fest including arts and crafts, baked goods, jewelry, primitive items, candles, books, and childrens' activities from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.

Mother-Daughter retreat

WILLIAMSON - Camp Joy El will hold its first-ever Mother- Daughter retreat to be held on Friday, Oct. 12 to Sun. Oct. 14. Designed for girls in grades 1 through 8, this retreat is open to mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers and mother figures who want to spend some "girl time" with that special girl in their life. This retreat will encourage renewed relationships between women and their daughters by focusing on issues and activities that interest and affect women and girls.

The theme is Wild Wild West with a Wild Wild God and western attire is welcome. The speaker is Ginger Weaver, Development Coordinator for Camp Joy El. Campers will enjoy the gym, go-karts, minigolf, games and much more. This special time of female bonding begins Friday at 7 p.m. and ends Sunday at 2 p.m.

Open house

SCOTLAND - St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, in conjunction with the "Celebration Day Flea Market" at Luther Ridge near Scotland, will host an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept.

There will be a free moon bounce for the kids, tours of the church facilities, and light refreshments.

Revival

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Mountain View Baptist Church, 12107 Walnut Point Road, will hold its Fall Mountain Revival Sunday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 5. The Sunday services will be at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, services are at 7 p.m.

Pastor Terrell Hopkins, Heritage Baptist Church from Locust Grove, Georgia, will be preaching. Special music will be by the church's own singers.

Adventure Club

Children in grades 3 to 5 are invited to come join Adventure Club that beings Wednesday, Oct. 3 at First United Methodist Church, 45 N. Washington St.

Anniversary banquets CHAMBERSBURG - CROSS Inc. will celebrate its 20th anniversary with its annual banquets. The proceeds will help the residents of Grace Home, Griffith House and Cumberland Vista. A banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Grantham Church. The banquet is free to the public, however, registration is required.

Bible study

WAYNESBORO - "Exploring the Bible through Drama" will be the next Bible study offered at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Waynesboro. The course will continue every Wednesday night through Oct. 31. The course will use various theatre games and improvisations to explore the wonderful characters in the Bible whose stories of faith still speak to us today. The course will culminate with a presentation at St. Mary's at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 4.

New schedule

Effective Sunday, Sept. 2, Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., returned to 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School and 10:45 a.m. for the Worship Service. A Service of Holy Communion is held on the first Sunday of every month. The Saturday evening informal Holy Communion remains the same time of 5:00 p.m. each Saturday. Rev. Martin H. Horn is pastor. The church is handicapped accessible. Visitors are cordially invited to attend.

Additional service

Tri-State Fellowship, an Evangelical Free Church, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, is offering an additional Sunday service. The new service, called The Bridge, starts at 11 a.m. This service is designed to connect today's generation with future generations and will feature progressive and energetic worship as well as varied elements to engage the worshiper in a multi-sensory worship experience.

Tri-State Fellowship also offers two Sunday services at 9:15 a.m.: Classic Tri-State, featuring an informal atmosphere and contemporary worship. The Heritage Café also meets at 9:15 a.m., in the Café rooms, and features hymns and vintage choruses and interactive sharing followed

by a live video telecast of the sermon from the Classic service.

Free meal

The Antrim Assembly of God, 11192 Bemisderfer Road, will have a free meal in its fellowship hall on the first Wednesday of each month. The meal will begin at 6 p.m.

Missions conference

The annual missions conference for Calvary Bible Church, 3845 Buchanan Trail West, will be held Oct. 7 to 10 at the church with services Sunday at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. (Sunday School) and 6:45 p.m. and at 6:45 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The main speaker for the conference will be George Theis, former director of Word of Life, Schroon Lake, N.Y. Barb and Friends will conduct the children's ministry Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday evening.

Other missionaries will be sharing their ministries during the conference. They include Ron and Pam Morton, Nehmiah Ministries for Word of Life; Stephen and Catherine Tibberts and family, New Tribes Missions in Mexico; and Mihai and Ana Laura Bukur, who serve with Word of Life in the Baltics.

The public is cordially invited to attend.

Anniversary celebration

The Ebenezer United Brethren Church, 3661 Williamson Road, will celebrate its 125th anniversary with a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.

Unity Sunday
