G-A Homemakers meeting well attended

The Greencastle-Antrim Homemakers' first fall meeting was held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. in the form of a covered dish picnic at Antrim Township Community Park, with 25 in attendance. Hilda Eshleman welcomed those in attendance and introduced three of the five new members in attendance, those being "Mim" Springer, Bonnie Speak and Tena Karinshak. Unable to attend were Shirley Freeman and Nancy McIntyre.

Jean Zimmerman led the group in singing the invocation to the tune of "Amazing Grace" followed by prayer. The committee for the picnic was Marcia Baumgardner, Mim Springer, sis Gingrich, Betty Lee Fisher and Sally Bohn who was unable to attend.

The secretary's report was read by assistant secretary Terry Herrick. The treasurer's report was read by Eloise Kline.

The upcoming programs were reviewed, noting that the Oct. 10 meeting will be held in the Church of the Brethren Fellowship Hall with Ruth Stenger of the Handy House, demonstrating and displaying high quality kitchen tools, cutlery and cookware that the ladies will find interesting and useable in their kitchens.

The County Holiday Daze meeting, sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension and Homemakers groups of Franklin County, will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Chambersburg Mennonite Church at the North Entrance from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The program will be "Easy Holiday Entertaining," "Holiday Decorating" and "Staying Safe During the Holidays." Cost is $11 and reservations are needed by Oct. 31 by calling 263-9226.
