Police Reports Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports: Three people were charged for a series of thefts at Zarger¿s Plumbing, 13 S. Carlisle St., between Aug. 23 and Sept. 4. The suspects allegedly drove to the rear of the store three times and stole various recyclable items, used water heaters, pipe and aluminum from the rear of the building and from inside an open shed. Theft charges were filed against Andrew Louis Bird, Blue Ridge Summit, and juvenile complaints were filed against two juveniles from Waynesboro. An accident at the corner of Leitersburg and Washington streets was the result of a 16-yearold driver pulling into the road before the intersection was clear. The driver was eastbound on Leitersburg in a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am and entered the path of Brenda Deshong, 38, 3293 Sportsman Road, operating a 2004 Ford Focus. Deshong could not stop and struck the other vehicle. The accident occurred at 3:59 p.m. Sept. 7. Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264- 5161.): John Kraymer Lum, Boonsboro, was travelling south to cross Mason Dixon Line to the southbound on-ramp of I-81 and proceeded from a stop sign in a 2000 Ford 250. He was struck by eastbound Brian David Robinson, Sr., Hagerstown, driving a 2005 GMC Savana. Both vehicles were damaged and required towing. No injuries were reported and both drivers will be charged for the 1:47 p.m. Sept. 11 accident. Ricky Lynn Johnson, 40, Greencastle, was apprehended at 7:16 p.m. Sept. 8 at U.S and Shinham Road for failing to stop for police for minor traffic violations. Johnson crashed a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorcycle. He was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, required financial responsibility (no insurance), speeding, registration and certificate of title required, reckless driving and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked. He was placed in Franklin County Jail after arraignment before District Judge Kelly Rock. James Brian Burke, 47, 12069 Crestview Dr., was charged with harassment following an incident at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 9. Burke allegedly shoved Veronica Jean Burck, 37, into a closet door after a verbal argument. Randy Akers, 49, Greencastle, reported that someone stole two mickey Thompson AL mag wheels from a carport on Williamsport Pike between Sept. 9 and 10. Upton Church of the Brethren, Greencastle, was the site of criminal mischief and theft from a motor vehicle between 6 p.m. Sept. 9 and 2 p.m. Sept. 10. Tony Ray Monninger, 27, Mercersburg, reported that someone broke out the side window of his car and stole the radio and speakers. Samuel Eugene O¿Neal, 44, was cited for verbal harassment and disorderly conduct on Anna Mae Drive at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 10. The victim was Robert R. Trigger, 48. Joseph C. Hammell, 51, Waynesboro, was traveling south on Ridge Road at 9:26 a.m. Sept. 13. After stopping, he began to back up his 2007 Chrysler Sebring in preparation to turn around and did not see a 1998 Dodge Ram approaching from behind. Kevan C. Koons, 19, Greencastle, struck the Chrysler near Flower Drive. Hammell was charged with unsafe backing. Kenneth Eugene Koontz, 54, Falling Waters, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. Aug. 28 for violating a protection from abuse order from Lori Ann Koontz, 43, 14920 Cedarbrook Drive. |
