United U10 wins opener

The Greencastle United U10 boys team opened its season with a 4-1 victory over the Mechanicsburg Falcons in the Central Penn Youth Soccer League.

Greencastle scored three first half goals taking a 3-0 lead into halftime. Ryan Yoder scored two goals and Sam Parker added another. Austyn Smith added a goal in the second half resulting in the final score.

Matthew Kline and Casey Hoover combined for five saves.

Jared Spoonhour and Robert Browning led the denfensive effort allowing just six shots on goal.

Rounding out the team are Christopher Bowman, Shawn Keller, Daniel Kephart, Jordan Lescalleet and Cory Monn.
