Eagles come up short against Scotland

The Greencastle Eagles traveled to Scotland to face the Scotland Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 9 in a Keystone Youth Football League contest.

The junior varsity Eagles were downed 13-0 by Scotland. The stingy Bronco def ense a l - lowed just 13 posi- tive rush- ing yards from Joseph Burns. The Eagles defense was led by Burns with 5 tackles. Devin Harbaugh had 4 tackles while Timothy Butts, Andrew Sheller, Spencer Myers, Tanner Bain and Tyler Haldeman had 3 each. Brady Klein and Luke Norris had 2 tackles each followed by Loren Ramer, Caleb Schaeffer, JD Mulka and Liam Okal with a tackle a piece.

The mid-varsity Eagles fell 7-0 to the Broncos. Kareem Aiken had 83 yards rushing and Cody Thompson added 47. Kyle George, Aiken and Thompson had 5 tackles each. Eugene Byers added 4 tackles to the defensive effort. Adam DeYoung and Timi Tijani had 3 tackles each. Hunter Tedrick had 2 tackles and contributing a tackle a piece were Sam Sprague, Kyren Jefferson, Graham Horst, Casey Bell and Jack Lindeman. DeYoung, Jefferson and Aiken all recovered Scotland fumbles.

The varsity Eagles ended the day's action in a 33 - 0 loss. Offensively, Aaron Bumbaugh had 63 rushing yards. Joshua Young returned a Bronco punt 28 yards. Young led the Eagle defenders with 6 tackles. Isaac Lauffer had 4 and pounced on a Scotland fumble. Holden Baker and Brady Keller had 3 tackles each. Adding 2 tackles a piece were Tyler Jackson, Bumbaugh, Patrick Bontrager, Stephen Ernharth, Tyler Appleby, Trevor Spielman and Zack Rodeheaver. The defensive effort was completed by Cody Kriner, Bobby Rider and Cody Carbaugh with a tackle each.

The Eagles host the Chambersburg Steelers Saturday, Sept. 15 at Kaley Field. The JV's will kick off at 4:30 p.m.
