Police Reports

Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports:

Richard Green, Thurmont, Md., was cited for careless driving following an accident at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 2 at 37 W. Baltimore St. Driving a 1997 Dodge, he struck a 2003 GMC station wagon stopped for traffic, operated by Patricia Edwards, 632 Williamson Road.

Shirley Dunkle, 14889 Molly Pitcher Highway, driving a 1999 Olds Bravado, allegedly pulled from a stop sign into the path of Ronald Statler, Chambersburg, driving a 2005 Mack truck for Waste Management. The incident occurred at West Walter Avenue and Baumgardner Drive at 10:49 a.m. Aug. 16.

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264-5161.):

An envelope containing $1,665 was stolen from the home of Michael Shindle, 4439 Williamson Road, between 1 and 8 a.m. Sept. 2.

Michael Stine, 25, Greencastle, allegedly provided a false name to police who were investigating a disturbance in St. Thomas Township at 12:20 a.m. Aug. 30. PSP discovered Stine was wanted by Franklin County Probation for several violations over the past two months. He was turned over to Probation Officers and placed in Franklin County Jail. A single count of false identification to law enforcement authorities was filed in District Court.

Donna Baumes received minor injuries when the 1991 Ford Explorer she was driving went off Cool Hollow Road and turned over on its roof. Police say she failed to negotiate the curve and traveled off the east side berm over an embankment at 6:29 a.m. Aug. 31.

Someone stole a Troy-Bilt 7.0 HP pressure washer and a 10.0 HP generator from a construction site at 1223 Dallas Drive between 5:15 p.m. Aug. 28 and 10 a.m. Aug. 29. The items belonged to Dan Ryan Builders.

Troopers from Troop H of the Pennsylvania State Police continue to monitor traffic on Interstate 81 for aggressive driving and high speeds. During July three drivers were cited for driving 90 miles per hour or more in Franklin County. One Chambersburg man was clocked at 120 mph.

PSP will be conducting DUI Sobriety Checkpoints in Franklin County in September and October. Roving patrols will also be used throughout 2007.
