Seth Izer made balloon sculptures for those at Grandparents Day, held at the Greencastle Senior Activity Center Aug. 22. "I thought it would be a fun thing to invite the grandchildren of our participants in to give them an opportunity to show off their grandchildren and for the kids to see where their grandparents spend some of their time. They could also meet the people they may hear their grandparents mention." About 20 grandchildren attended the event, where there were games, crafts, billiards, computer activities, fellowship and pizza for lunch.

Eleven-year-old friends, Rachael Henderson and Skyler Allen, set up a food sale during the Cedarbrook Community yard sale to benefit St. Jude Hospital. The two friends were successful in reaching their goal of $100 by selling refreshments, chips and homemade shoofly pie. Rachael said, "St. Jude is a very good center for kids to fight cancer." Skyler stated that she supports it because she feels that "people should chip in and help save children's lives."
