Proud and honored to serve

Greencastle-Antrim has just concluded its 36th Triennial Old Home Week Celebration, a tradition and reunion that's been kept alive and thriving for 105 years. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Old Home Week Board of Directors, my fellow OHW Officers, Ben Thomas and Carol Christophel, the 40-plus committee chairpersons and members, the Greencastle Police Department, Rescue Hose Company, Greencastle-Antrim Fire Police, the local Civic Organizations, the Boy Scout Troops, volunteers and countless others who helped contribute to this year's celebration.

We must also thank the many contributors. Old Home Week is made possible by the donations of many individuals and businesses. We were blessed with a few "large" contributions this year, which allowed us to continue operating in the "black".

This OHW was a bit warm, and we received some badly needed rain. Although somewhat ill timed, it couldn't dampen the spirits of the people in our community during OHW.

This triennial event has so many positive influences on our town and the surrounding area. We must never take for granted this unique weeklong reunion that keeps our community grounded in traditions and uplifting celebrations.

I was proud and honored to serve as this years President of the Old Home Week Association. Let's all look forward to participating again in the 37th Triennial Old Home Week in 2010.
