Mariam P. Auman Mariam P. Auman, 82, a resident of the Menno Haven Nursing Center, Chambersburg, and formerly of Greencastle, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 in the nursing center. Born April 2, 1925 near Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Mae K. (Martin) Auman. She had retired from the former Corning Glass Works, Greencastle, and in her earlier years she worked at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg. Ms. Auman was a member of the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren. She was a graduate of Greencastle High School. Ms. Auman enjoyed traveling and served as a volunteer at the Chambersburg Hospital. She is survived by five nieces, LaVonne Shank of New Oxford, Donna Martin of Greencastle, Diane Hawbaker, Wanda Negley and Roxane Witmer, all of Mercersburg; one nephew, Duane Hawbaker of Mercersburg; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet B. Hawbaker, Oct. 8, 1987 and Vera P. Auman, May 7, 2004. A memorial service was held the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 22 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Leon R. Yoder officiating. Burial was in the Upton Church Of The Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Benevolent Care Fund of Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201 or to the Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd., Suite 302, Carlisle, Pa. 17013. |
