Nora R. (McClain) Neuhaus Nora R. (McClain) Neuhaus of Greencastle and formerly of Rehmeyer Hollow Road in North Hopewell Township died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007 in Waynesboro Hospital. Mrs. Neuhaus was born Sept. 20, 1914 in Hopewell Township. In 2005, due to failing health, she moved to Greencastle to live with her daughter and son-inlaw, Nancy and Gary Gembe. She and her late husband, Zeno B. Neuhaus, carried the York Daily Record for nine years on Stewartstown routes one and two, retiring in 1981. She also farmed, along with her husband, in North Hopewell Township most of her life. Her prior employment was at the former Charles G. Summers Jr. Inc. Canning Company in New Freedom. Mrs. Neuhaus was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed spending time at Stewartstown Senior Center and was a very active volunteer with Winterstown Fire Company and Stewartstown Ambulance Club. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean McClain of Warner Robins, Fla.; and one sister, Arlene Frey of Stewartstown. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Lamar Neuhaus; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Neuhaus; one brother, George McClain; and two sisters, Edna Orwig and Marguerite Fry. Services were held Friday, Aug. 10 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., Stewartstown, with Pastor Glen A. Miller of Greencastle officiating. Burial was in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
