FUND RAISERS Yard sale CHAMBERSBURG - St. Paul United Methodist Women is sponsoring a yard sale to benefit missions in the Family Life Center of the church, 750 Norland Ave. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 6 and 7 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. HCC golf tournament HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association hosts its 15th annual golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 7, starting at noon at Beaver Creek Country Club. A free pro golf clinic will begin at 11 a.m. The tournament format will be a step-aside scramble, with four person teams. New this year is a pro golf clinic before the tournament featuring instruction from HCC alumni who are now PGA golf professionals, including John Miller with Stoneleigh Country Club in Round Hill, Va.; Dirk Schultz with Beaver Creek Country Club; and Matt Mc- Cumbee with Waynesboro Country Club. Cost is $125 per person and includes cart and greens fees, cart lunch, snacks, refreshments, buffet dinner catered by Outback Steakhouse and individual and team prizes. Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit Hagerstown Community College. The registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 24. Va. - The 12th Annual Saint James School Golf Classic will be held Monday, Sept. 17 at Cress Creek Golf and Country Club. The tournament, which supports student scholarships, is limited to the first 108 golfers. The entry fee for an individual player is $150. A Birdie Sponsorship is $500 and includes two players and your business name on the sponsor board. An Eagle Sponsorship, which is the tournament's most popular selection, includes a foursome and your business name on a tee sign. The Eagle Sponsorship fee is $750. All entry fees include a cart, greens fees, a wind vest, a boxed lunch, an awards reception and dinner, along with numerous prizes. Registration begins at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. The format is a four-person scramble with USGA Scramble Handicap Rules. Cow plop bingo MERCERSBURG - The Mercersburg Area Chamber of Commerce will hold Cow Plop Bingo at the Harvest Farm Festival 2007 at Stoner's Hijos Hill Farm 7678 Oellig Road at noon Saturday, Oct. 6.
