Fund-raiser planned toward new veteran monument

The American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign Wars posts in Greencastle have joined together to raise the funds necessary to erect a suitable monument to those citizens of the Greencastle- Antrim area who gave their lives in all of America's wars in defense of our freedom.

The Legion and VFW are jointly conducting a fund raiser to benefit the Greencastle- Antrim Veteran's Memorial Saturday, Sept. 1 at the American Legion Picnic Grounds off Williamson Road in Greencastle from noon to 6 p.m.

Each half hour from 1 to 6 p.m. $100 will be gived away. Food and refreshments will be served.

The event is open to the public.

Tickets are $10 per person ($5 for children) and may be purchased at either American Legion Post 373 or VFW Post 6319 in Greencastle.
